Transition Progress Report

This chart details the process of securing a new rector, as set forth by the our Diocese of the Episcopal Church. The tasks are to be completed by the parishioners in transitioning toward selecting a new rector.

Read down the first column, then continue to read from the bottom of the second one.

During the period of June through August 2025, we reviewed candidates for an Interim Rector. A larger, more reader-friendly chart can be seen in the Parish Hall. A star beside an action shows that a task has been completed.

While our Interim Rector, The Reverend Gary Coffey, is in residence, the Discernment Committee is working with the Diocesan Associate Transition Officer, The Reverend Kevin Todd, to find our next Rector.

We Want to Hear Your Story

St. Luke's is discerning our next chapter, and every voice in the parish shapes what comes next. Between May 10 and June 21, we're inviting every member of St. Luke's to take part in the Congregational Assessment Tool (CAT) — a thirty-minute survey we're running in conjunction with Holy Cow! Consulting, a Diocesan-approved company (and required step of our discernment process) that has helped over 6,000 congregations collect data to support decision-making.

Your honest answers become the foundation of our parish profile — the document that guides our search for a new rector and helps ensure the next person called to St. Luke's is truly the right fit for who we are. Your voice matters, and we want to invite each adult congregation member (16+), and adults with a vested interest in our church, to take the CAT survey (adult congregation members living in the same home should each take their own survey). We will also have a different version of the survey for our younger members!

Emails with the survey link will be sent during the week of May 10. If you do not receive an email, please contact a Discernment Committee member to provide them with an email to use, or to receive a paper survey to return.

Four ways to participate (adults):

  • Watch your email for a survey link and take the survey from the comfort of your own home

  • Take the survey on a paper copy, located at the back of the church and in the parish hall.

  • After the 8:00 service and during Sunday coffee hour (11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.) from May 10-June 14, parishioners can complete the survey on a laptop in the parish hall. A drop-in breakfast on May 31 between services will offer breakfast, coffee, and one-on-one help with the survey.

  • Schedule a member of the Discernment Committee to come to your home to help you take the survey online

For our younger members:

  • Sunday School attendees will receive a paper survey during a Sunday School class held during the survey period. Older St. Luke’s youth will receive a youth survey to complete via email or in paper form.
